Gavax Joshi is an Assistant Professor at the School of Semiconductor, NAMTECH, dedicated to building an industry relevant semiconductor education program. He is currently finalizing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His research focuses on the growth, controlled n-type doping, and characterization of LPCVD grown β-Ga2O3 heteroepitaxial films. He also holds an M.Tech. in Microelectronics from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, and an M.Sc. in Electronics from Saurashtra University.
He brings extensive teaching and research experience to NAMTECH, having held academic positions Pre Ph.D., such as Lecturer at BITS Pilani – K.K. Birla Goa Campus and Assistant Professor at IMS Engineering College. He also served as a Project Engineer at IIT Kanpur, performing density functional theory simulations and synthesizing 2D MoS2 using mechanical exfoliation technique.
He is expert in LPCVD technique, and his research encompasses a broad spectrum of topics including material synthesis, thin-film epitaxy, semiconductor device fabrication, material and electrical characterization, and semiconductor physics. He has authored multiple journal articles and conference papers on LPCVD growth, doping, and characterization of β-Ga2O3 thin films.
Passionate about advancing semiconductor education and research, He is dedicated to developing state-of-the-art curricula and advanced laboratory facilities to cultivate a highly skilled workforce for India’s emerging semiconductor industry. In his current role at NAMTECH, he is committed to creating a centre of excellence that will drive meaningful change and impact in the semiconductor sector, preparing the next generation of skilled professionals for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Alongside his professional work, his interests are reading, playing chess, and enhancing spiritual growth.
Research interest spans all the way from material synthesis to device fabrication, characterization, simulation, and modelling.
